Welcome to “Your Art Journey”
Tutoring & artwork by Ella Hayward
Hello! I am Ella Hayward, an artist and art teacher with over 20 years of professional experience in secondary education. I run group workshops, teach adults and deliver private tuition to students of all ages.
I celebrate creativity and am passionate about helping others find happiness through their journey into art.
My tuition can be aimed at supporting GCSE and A-Level art students with coursework, but is also beginner friendly for anyone wishing to explore art for the first time.
Whether you are looking to learn new art skills, find simple enjoyment through art, or want to explore art as a tool for healing, I have a variety of lessons and creative tasks to suit your needs.
Life is better with a little paint on your hands!
Workshops and Art Tuition
Alongside my background teaching in mainstream education for two decades, I love to support artists of all ages in exploring art further, developing their knowledge, skills and creative journey.
1-2-1 tuition for students and children
I have given regular tuition to primary and secondary school students in the Surrey and Greater London area over many years. I support GCSE and A Level students with 1-2-1 tuition in the lead up to their Year 11 and Year 13 exams. This is bespoke to the individual student and ranges from one-off sessions to a set of sessions, based on their needs. This takes place in the student’s home. I supply a variety of art equipment and tools to support their learning and coursework development.
1-2-1 tuition for adults
These lessons are bespoke and suitable for beginners as well as more experienced artists:
- Anyone interested in learning a specific technique or discipline such as watercolour, printmaking, collage, drawing techniques or mixed media.
- Anyone interested in using art for wellbeing, to help heal from grief or trauma, or find calm through a creative practice.
If you are interested in 1-2-1 tuition please get in touch.
Group workshops
For over a decade I have delivered workshops for adults on a range of subjects, designed to help artists explore media, techniques and processes with curiosity and joy. These include topics such as still life exploration, portraiture, creative drawing techniques, observational drawing of natural forms, working with a Fauvist colour palette, working with a limited colour palette, exploring nature and landscapes, working with negative space, collage and mixed media, working on a black background with chalk, charcoal and acrylic, using recycled materials as a canvas. If you are interested in hiring me to run a workshop or demonstration for your art group please get in touch.
